Setting up PC BIOS for FluxNode

Step 3 of Flux CUMULUS Node Setup


We are preparing our Mini PC for FluxNode deployment 

1. Unbox the PC and connect the network cable, keyboard, and monitor (PC Supports VGA as well as a standard Displayport)

2. Connect the power supply to the HP Mini PC. It should start up, if not, press the power button (front panel, lower right)


3. As soon as the power comes on, keep tapping the ESC key until the Startup Menu is displayed.


4. Select Computer Setup (F10)

5. Navigate to Storage > Storage Options and ensure SATA Simulation is set to AHCI

6. Navigate to Storage > Boot Order and ensure Legacy Boot Sources is set to in this order:
USB Floppy/CD 
Hard Drive

7. Navigate to Security > Secure Boot Configuration and set:
Legacy Support > Enabled
Secure Boot > Disabled
Hit F10 to accept

8. Navigate to Advanced > Power-On Options and set
After Power Loss > On
Hit F10 to accept 
This is to ensure your node comes right back up after a power failure

9. Insert the USB Bootable drive into one a front USB port


10. Navigate to File > Save Changes and Exit. Confirm Yes to Save Changes and Exit

Your PC BIOS is now ready for Ubuntu installation for FluxNode FluxOS
We now move on to Step 4 Installing Ubuntu for FluxOS
