 Creating a Bootable Ubuntu USB Flash Drive

Step 2 of Flux CUMULUS Node Setup


We are preparing our Mini PC for FluxNode deployment 

1. Download this Ubuntu Server 20.04 LTS (Ubuntu 20.04.5 LTS Focal Fossa is the current one) image on your PC: 
2. If using Windows for the USB drive creation
  • Download Rufus and run it
  • Insert the USB drive
  • Under Boot Selection, select Disk or ISO Image and click Select
  • Browse to the downloaded Ubuntu 22.04 .iso file and click Start
3. If using Ubuntu for the USB drive creation
  • Use Startup Disk Creator (If not present, install from the Software Center)
  • In the top pane, click Other. Browse and select the Ubuntu 22.04 .iso image you just downloaded
  • In the bottom pane, select the USB drive
  • Click Make Startup Disk
Your Bootable Ubuntu USB Flash Drive is now ready for installation so we now move on to
Step 3 of Seting up PC BIOS for FluxNode

Installing FluxOS  Step 6 of Flux CUMULUS Node Setup We are preparing our  Mini PC  for FluxNode deployment  1. Once logged in to the node, at the prompt type: sudo su - Then copy/paste the following and hit Enter: bash -i <(curl -s https://raw.githubusercontent.com/RunOnFlux/fluxnode-multitool/master/multitoolbox.sh) 2. At the next screen, type:  1  and hit  Enter  to install Docker. Enter your username ( fluxuser ) when prompted and hit  Enter . Wait for the Docker to install and when prompted  Would you like switch to user account Y/N?  type  Y  and hit  Enter 3.
