Installing Ubuntu for FluxOS
Installing Ubuntu for FluxOS
Step 4 of Flux CUMULUS Node Setup
1. Wait for the PC to boot using the Ubuntu USB bootable flash drive we created earlier until you see the Welcome screen with language selection. Select: English and hit Enter key
2. At the Keyboard configuration screen select: Layout English (US), Variant: English (US), Select Done, and hit Enter
3. At the Network connections screen, select Continue without network and hit Enter
4. At the Configure proxy screen, select Done and hit Enter
5. At the Configure Ubuntu archive mirror screen, select Done and hit Enter
6. At the Checking for installer update... screen, select Continue without updating and hit Enter
7. At the Guided Storage Configuration screen, navigate using up/down arrows and hit space bar to check Use an entire disk, uncheck Set up this disk as an LVM group, select Done, and hit Enter.
8. At the Storage Configuration screen select Done, and hit Enter.
9. At the Confirm destructive Action pop-up select Continue
10. At the Profile setup screen specify your name (e.g. John Doe), server name (e.g. fluxnode1), username (e.g. fluxuser), and password (e.g. password). Note on passwords: Not sure if it is a bug with this version but I had hard time with using strong passwords during setup stage. It could be due to this PC not letting me use CAPITAl letters. To be safe, use simple, all lower-case password - we will be changing it later!
Remove the USB drive from the PC
Connect Ethernet cable
12. At the user/password prompt screen, type username: fluxuser password: password and hit Enter
13. Once logged in, at the shell prompt, type: type: ip a and hit Enter. Make note of the IP address (e.g. in my case 192.168.1.183) and MAC address (e.g. 1a:2b:c3:4d:5e:6f)
Ubuntu for FluxOS installation is complete.
We now move on to Step 5 FluxNode Networking, Router, and Firewall Setup
